Photonics 2012 belt?
The exponential explosion of data, facts and infromation overwhelms our ability to keep pace. The words are added the dictionary faster than we can handle their meaning and impact. We can go where we have no words or language to guide us. And then I want to go where certain words and phrases that can be us? What about the waist of photonics, as an example?
Photonics term appeared in the 1960s to describe an area of research aimed at using light to perform functions traditionally used to fall into the typical field of electronics, such as telecommunications, data processing, etc. Photonics really began with the invention of laser diode laser and followed in the 1970s by the development optical fiber as a medium for transmitting information via the ray of light, amplifier and erbium-doped fiber.
These inventions formed the basis of the telecommunications revolution of the late 20th century, and provided the infrastructure for the Internet. Now you know how important!
So how does this link with the 2012? Or not? 
On the basis of some satellite instruments, astronomers in 1961, discovered what appeared to be an unusual nebula. Generally understand the phenomenon as a pattern of clouds as the mass of gas or dust. The latter, however, appear to have abnormal properties and was named the Golden Nebula. What is this electromagnetic cloud, this golden nebula? Its more or label Universal is known as the photon belt is composed of several bands of light.
