studio flats?
hi.
my mum has set up her own business designing and making her own leather handbags and belts, she is looking for a place to rent where she can live and work, as i understand it, there are studio properties available for this purpose. does anyone have any information on this and where she should start looking? her budget is very very tight as she is unemployed (apart from some bag sales income) and recieves no benifits from the state. she is looking for somewhere in london, preferably hackney or thereabouts. i thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer. kind regards and happy easter, louise.

You need to speak to an Agent in the area about location of this and the prices. If its a new business she may be eligible for some kind of grants or tax rebates.
I would advise you read it very carefully as I should point out commercial/business use means they have to pay more council tax, therefore, if at all possible apportion as little of the property as possible to commercial use (but enough to ensure it qualifies) to save on council tax.
