Is This Age discrimination?
I’m 14, Today was my last day of school, before the holidays, (So, were all in School Uniform) and while down my street, a group of us ( around 8 of us) went into our local Tesco.
Half of us went over to the drinks section to buy a coke, when a security guard said to us “Take Off Your School Bags And Leave Them Outside”
Having heard about them doing this before, I was reluctant, and asked him Why, to which he just smirked.
I persisted in asking, Would You ask a Woman To Take Off Her Handbag and Leave It Outside?
He Just Said It’s Not The Point.
I personally feel that we were picked on, being seen as Thieves, because we where in school uniform.
Is that not Age discrimination?
Thank You For Reading.
I definitely understand where you are coming from, but the bag restriction is all over. This restriction is not limited to just you personally. If I would at 23y of age walk in to a store with a backpack they would also, and have due to my large purse, ask me to place it behind the counter or outside with a friend etc…
This is a very legal and reasonable way for stores to deal with lost profit due to thefts. Please do not take it personally because it is not you but those who do chose to use their larger bags to steal.
