How to make good homemade pictures / backdrop?
I have been trying to start up my handbag store online and i was wondering how can i make my pictures look better? I am using a Kodak Easyshare C613 and I used a white sheet..i am on a tight budget so please no expensive suggestions…

Turn the flash off for starters. Your white sheet will work just fine. You need some light though since you aren’t going to use the flash. I don’t know if you have control of your ISO on your camera or not, but if you do, set it to the lowest setting like 100. You need probably 3 or 4 lights, they don’t have to be strobes. Clamp lights at home depot or lowe’s will work for you. You’ll want 4 flood bulbs to go with those. 2 of them will light the background behind the bag, the other 2 will be lighting the front side. The best way to do it (on the cheap) is get 2 pieces of white posterboard. Aim the lights away from the bag at 45 degree angles at the posterboard, using the posterboard like a bounce umbrella. You do NOT want to put all that light directly on the bag. You’ll have more flash reflections. If you wanted those, you’d just use the flash.
Take the picture with the camera on a tripod
Take a look at the picture and I’m thinking you’ll have to adjust the Exposure Value (EV) up to +0.7 or even +1.0. This will hopefully make the background stark white while keeping your bag well lit, but not too well lit. This will hopefully eliminate a lot of the background texture and shadows and put it on a clean white slate.
MOST IMPORTANT – Have enough room to work. You want at least 4 ft between the bag and the background. The background lights should be between the bag and the background aimed at the background about the level of the top of the bag at pretty severe angles. However it ends up you want it to be the same on both sides so the background is evenly lit. Best of Luck
