Well just so you know over here your pants are trousers and our pants are underwear. 
Leggings and jeggings are very popular at the moment. We are also wearing lots of warm knits currently too because it’s so cold. Because of the recession clothes over the past year or so have been very bland, often in one colour. Now that we are coming out of the recession albeit slowly) things are starting to get more sparkly. 
(Heard that from a guy who designs fashion for the clothing shop Republic)
Uggs (and their fake counterparts which you can buy cheaply in shops like New Look) are very popular at the moment because of how cold it is. They’re also perfect to wear with either jeans or leggings/jeggings.
